BBB

The Blood Brain Barrier





The meaning: A semipermeable barrier between the blood and the brain produced by the cells in the walls of the brain's capillaries.

Let's discuss about the function of BBB :

1.Protect the brain from the foreign substances.
2.Maintains a constant environment for the brain.
3.Protect the brain from hormones and neurotransmitter in the rest of the body.

However, BBB actually:

-selectively permeable to the OXYGEN, CARBON DIOXIDE AND GLUCOSE...

Factors influencing brain development



Heredity = make sure thing are go wright and the brain will continue growing and restructure itself..
Nutrition = good nutrition-vitamin,mineral,other food supplement..
Environmental toxin = eg: alcohol, mercury, radiation...
Opportunities to learn = learn to read and write > different organizational pattern in our brain...

~Each of this factors can lead to the negative effect if we not take it seriously.....~

Our Brain

Alright guys, I will share with you some information that I learn from my class.
When we are born,our brain weight is 400 grams.
 when we are 18 months old, it become bigger with the weight 800 grams.
 Then, when we are adult, our brain will turn to 1300-1400 grams..
